Footsteps in the warm moist sand,
seagulls gliding beneath the blue sky,
struggling, we all need a helping hand,
wandering, never really knowing why.
Waves roll in as the tide goes out,
harmony creates such an illusion,
winds blows as the whale spouts,
in the mist we stand in confusion.
If simple, we would know what to do,
complicated world with many choices,
where decisions are made by only a few,
just too many sounds, to many voices.
Footsteps form and fade into the night,
presenting to us a short window of time,
one for love to share and get it right,
finding the way while the sun still shines.
Secrets of living found in the mystic sea,
the rolling white caps and the salty air,
truth resides in what is intended to be,
nothing more or less than what we share.
I am really enjoying your work- I was reading Thomas Merton this morning and this reminds me a bit of what I read. There is an ease in your rhyming that flows so effortlessly.
A book of nature inspired poems and essays, written from the heart and soul of a life-long nature, animal, and wilderness lover, and dedicated to today’s children - Earth's only hope for a better tomorrow.
This book won 'The Poetry Category'
Inhaled deeply this breath of fresh ocean air...
