Sounds in the Silence


In the still forest all alone,
just listening to the sounds,
nature’s own breathing tones,
for in silence they abound.

Birds chirping in the air,
fogs croaking in the pond,
harmonic music to share,
a doe whistling to it’s fawn.

A gentle breeze makes a rush,
crickets sounding off in the grass,
bees buzzing in the thick brush,
spontaneous vibrations never last.

Majestic trees forever creaking,
red headed woodpecker tapping,
radiant flowers, blooms weeping,
at the river’s edge a wolf lapping.

Rabbit thumping upon the dirt,
a hawk streaking, diving at prey,
natures creatures all busy at work,
for it is how they spend their day.
