Spirit Upon A Mountain


Reaching up toward the sky,
angelic essence lingers within,
questions of which, we aks why,
goodness covered with our sin.

Above society’s ill gotten fame,
peace and tranquility ever so rare,
the insight to nature, for us to gain,
radiant beauty discovered to share.

On a mountain top, up so high,
time brings meaning to the soul,
for it is where you will finally die,
society’s woes, befall their toll.

It comes forth in a feeling to behold,
pastels of blue, meet the amber glow,
cast away from earthly acts so bold,
soaring high where the spirit flows.

On earth our journey is now done,
a test of time, fading in the wind,
solitude of the spirit has just begun,
leaving behind all that has been.
