Pure soft white flakes of snow,
fluttering down from the sky,
whence they came no one knows,
upon the frozen ground they lie.
It squeaks beneath one’s feet,
with each step they are crushed,
cold, they seem to give off heat,
like satin and velvet, ever plush.
Lights sparkling upon the ground,
snow covering everything in sight,
pure and angelic, seems to surround,
glowing, glittering, forever so bright.
The cold felt deep within the chest,
smelling ever fresh and ever clean,
invigorating after a long night’s rest,
watching a young deer fast and lean,
Winter’s wonderland, ours to behold,
another of nature’s mysteries abounds,
standing before us, so proud and bold,
for in it’s beauty, it forever astounds.
Beautiful poetry.
I know how green feels
I felt it with my toes
And snow is cold
I felt it with my nose..
Reminds me of my father's verse in colors of nature.
