Laying Upon The Grass


Gazing up to the stars in the sky,
the lights twinkling in the dark,
such splendor, we wonder why,
laying upon the grass in the park.

Feeling so insignificant and small,
staring out at the vastness of space,
not grasping the complexity of it all,
trying to survive in the human race.

Nature’s magnificence is all around,
often blinded to it’s power and might,
deafen to the natural musical sounds,
consumed in our desires of the night.

Lives simply fade with passing time,
as we struggle, lost in society’s maze,
earthly burdens weight upon our mind,
spirit’s frazzled, stumbling in a daze,

Looking up to the endless sky above,
puts perspective to the lives we live,
precious moments created from love,
escalates contentment when we give.
