How Lucky We Are


Gazing toward a distant star,
twinkling with an amber glow,
it is ever so bright yet so far,
a gentle breeze begins to blow.

Universal mysteries to behold,
surround us each and everyday,
soft and ennoble yet ever bold,
it is just Mother Nature’s way.

Beauty beyond our imagination,
imprinted upon the vast earth,
spirits energized with fascination
sights and sounds from birth.

A star shooting across the sky,
the colors of a rainbow’s light,
reason which we know not why,
serenity of nature, such a sight.

How lucky we are to feel and see,
warmth of the sun, soft of the air,
wonders of nature, all it can be,
for each of us to enjoy and share.
