Wind howling in the cold chilled air,
raindrops falling from the darken sky,
huddling under an umbrella they share,
weather changing, no one knows why.
Seasons of the year a gift or a curse,
from the heat to the cold of the snow,
weather turning bad only to get worse,
weathermen talk but really don’t know.
The river rises and the ground is wet,
raining by day, it starts to pour down,
fishermen get soaked pulling their net,
people glare with a sad looking frown.
Feelings vary with changing weather,
frolicking in the sun often brings joy,
the cold only brings a warm sweater,
acts of nature, never meant to be a toy.
Souls often perish in a raging storm,
lives cut short, dreams washed away,
while others relax in a dwelling warm,
certainty of weather, it’s here to stay.
Sam, your poems speak with a sincerity and images to enjoy. This made me want to cuddle up in my blankets and enjoy a raging storm. Seasons bring sadness, happiness, and makes us aware of this life we live in. A great write!
