BEAUTIFUL DAWN

Beautiful dawn,

A smile on her face.

Lilacs waken with a yawn,

Blooming with a lovely grace.

Birds break the dawn’s silence,

With their timeless melodies.

I listen patiently in compliance,

To their effortless, lyrical rhapsodies.

The dawn does not linger long,

The sun’s rays are anxious to arrive.

Dawn’s delicate light will soon be gone,

Making way for the day to thrive.

Dawn glows stronger in the distant East,

Its light on my lawn as a tempting feast.

I could just eat up that last line. Yes, dawn is a special time of day to be savored… At least if one is able to get up in time and not sleep in and miss it entirely like I did today.

Eh . . . Unlike Michael I have to travel not very far to find the swamps which have not been touched by the American dollar. Even so, you have to travel. Out of sight rendering, John.

Beautiful. Sometimes I get to hear birds breaking dawn's silence. but usually it's the sound of my neighbor starting his truck. Ain't city life grand.
