Watching the woods fill up with snow
Is a wonderful pasttime you know;
I sit in wonder---the missiles fall
Sprinkling trees and leaves and all.
Some think the woods are quiet and deep
Hiding mysteries---secrets to keep.
I think they're sleepy---serene yet teeming
Displaying shadows---deposits and beaming.
I must hurry before the dark
To keep appointments bookmarked.
Distance to make and things to gather
Before the storm makes front and center.
