The cave man slept
And had strange dreams
Of lofty buildings
And flying machines

Where did his dreams
Came from he wanted to know
dimly aware of some
Past aglow

It was a time in ages past
when mankind thought
he would forever last

when the Earth flourished
with its high science and Technology and his ancestors
revelled in outstanding weaponry

when they fought each other
for power and gain
that created an athmosphere of deadly acid rain.

When weapons of mass destruction
was the order of the day
and nations rose against each other
in every way

when the deadly fallout destroyed
the crops in the field
and the land could no longer
give it's yield

When world wide famine and pestilence
swept the earth
and mankind died like flies
in the dirt

now here he was
in his lonely cave
a mutated descendant
of that nuclear age !
