Man vs. Nature

For I am nature, I do what comes naturally.

Strong and valiant men proclaim I need them.

Wise men think their doctrine is the reason for my existence.

But rebuttal this, can I not live without your interference?

Do you not need me to supply your daily needs and wants?

Does my wind not give you a breeze?

… my trees not give you shade from my Sun?

… my plants not allow you to see the aesthetic?

… my stars and moon not illuminate my night?

… my universe not gives you direction?

… my grounds not bury your carcasses?

… my water not washes your body?

… my oxygen not gives you life?

… my rain not calms your innerness?

… my soil not grow your food?

… my watering hole not supply you water?

… my herbs not give you medicine?

… my jewels not give you purpose?

… my gold not tempts your mind?

… my coal not give you heat?

… my storms not cause you to fear?

… my hidden secrets not make you search?

… my freedom pushes you to be free?

If you cut me down, can I not grow again?

Did I not help you win your battles?

When you leave this world, will I not still be here?

For you are mortal men and do what you can.

For I am nature, mighty and strong, without me there is no you.

So true of nature. So unrespected and abused. I'm not sure that jewels give anyone "purpose."

You have fulfilled the purpose of a poet. Revealing the unseen.

Ahhh . . . You have certainly given those small-brainless men one hell of a rebuttal . . . Good job.

Mary, I really like this poem and it's message. Really reminds us she is truly "Mother Earth". Makes one wonder how it could all be coincidence?
