Dedicated to Ed Kostro – with thanks for his inborn perception, expanded, as he shares it, in poems as inspired and inspiring as his “Rainy Day Lullaby”.

(Artwork by Ann Erpino)

Poem Artwork

AVE VERUM

It rains, on this day full of grace
- and yet, the waterfall, in tune, of
birdsongs, of joy pouring from breeze
onto promises of plenty, budding
green, chant of a sun, pure, inherent
to nature, thus to being..

Blessed are perceptions, gently stirred
by breath, soft as a lullaby, of fruit to grow
and borne within –

Hallowed ground of seeds quenched, of hands
that tend, with love, each prayer answered
- now, as in all hours of grateful beginnings.

Amen.

Blowing from the heart of Portugal the Mistral wind will warm our heart.
