She woke up with moonlight bathing her face
two panelled curtains half closed with curtail
her lover was skirting the balcony's edge
waiting for her with a grin on his face,
and a knife meant to sever and kill ;
She tip toed and picked up a candle with care
with a billowing gown trailing soft by her side
her heart was a thunder unmuted inside ;
Down to the stairwell she went with such fear
to hide in the dungeon of yesterday's year
The cobwebs just hugged her thin frame of young
as with trembling hands she started to pray
His madness ran seaward calling her name
but she crouched in a corner and held out so long
that the demons came out and ran havoc on him
They tortured his madness and sent him to hell
while the dungeon drew light as the 1st of July
She slowly crept up and went to her room
where the roses awoke to a morning's travail
she slept until noon and she slept until June.
The End.

Like all nightmares, there is a certain disconnectedness between the woman and the madman she loves. I guess that the magic of Friday the 13th. All bets are off.
Ahhh Mystic, this is truly one hypnotizing tale of madness turned inward, and to post it on Friday 13 makes it even more Poeish indeed. Thank you kindly for dedicating it to me. I feel honored. Again, thank you.
and they flew away merrily into the night.
