Inhospitable...

No place to visit,
No vacation to take,
Never should we forsake,
Our little blue marble,
In the dark reaches of space...

Poem Artwork

Inhospitable…

A place of high strong winds,

Able to kill a man or blow him off his feet,

Ice flying in long and short sheets,

Like daggers with a mind, seeking blood, not just sleet…

Snow of the twenty-foot variety, so deep,

Unable to traverse on foot a hill, so steep,

Snow shoes help, better to stay inside,

Caves the only place to keep,

Man or beast from the horrors outside…

No spring or summer thaw, does happen here,

No birds and greenery that time of year,

Better to stay on Earth, so near,

Than to visit another planet so far from here…

You've said a lovely mouthful, Ed... when that first robin hops across the lawn, or chirps outside my window.. when the branches of trees pop out their little nubs, and rain follows the sun... it all reminds me how nice mother earth truly is... (now if we could just get some of her people to cooperate!) Don't get me started! sigh... happy days, Ed and Rufuz... (how's your head, ed? ) <---- hey... that rhymes! (giggle) katy xox.
