"dream-E-scape…"

Does the computer give to us what we need?

Does the internet give us our E-scape?

We E-mail others, fortunately though we cannot commit rape,

Harassment can be done, through the internet,

So can many other crimes of passion if we so allow,

But no one can touch our bodies, just our minds unless we disavow…

I use it as my dream-E-scape, like that of dreaming,

Yet to be fully and completely awake,

Daydreaming, yes, is another word,

Helping us in life to take,

A much needed and deserved break,

Without the constant and undeserving ache,

We derive from some other means of the dream…

So to herein summarize,

We are seeing in the near future, yes with our eyes,

A new form of dreaming during the waking hours; no lies,

Maybe not new, as we all have taken this cue,

For many years now, but now there is a name,

A more technical one, as is our life at this time, not the same,

No longer can we call it a daydream,

With the computer age, we have to change it to,

          “dream-E-scape”
