Water, a rare occurance for it to be ingested by me, short of taking it in, when I swim...

Poem Artwork

“Oh My God, Is That Water he’s Drinking?”

A question from my internal environs,

So used to sifting through the various things I drink,

Looking for water to use to flush their respective systems,

My bladder being the one mainly wondering about water,

As I have for so long drank so little,

Only what I ingest when I am swimming,

And that is usually salt or chlorine,

Causing me to choke till I barely can breathe…

So my internal parts are sucking up the water I have been drinking of late,

The summer is on its way they say,

As they know I only usually drink it when it is hot,

Soda does nothing for me when it is hot, yes not,

So I am getting used to water, prior to the summer,

So as not to get the feeling later that water is a bummer…

I have heard all the why’s and why not’s,

Also know all the good reasons to drink water,

I just have not till of late, drank it with any gusto,

No reason, other than the fact I like cherry coke,

Or vanilla pepsi, or root beer, or black cherry soda,

But as per my guru, the one on the Tibetan mountain,

You may have read in another guise I have taken,

That water is good for the soul, the organs and the mind,

Oh by the way, my guru, his name is actually Yoda…
