Just playin' and havin' fun...

Poem Artwork

Living in an Outhouse…

To be seen from outside,

Our outhouse seems it would wash away with the tide,

On a foundation of dirt, with a floor of wood,

Our outhouse is a home of beauty, as it should…

Walking in the door, the only one in front, no more,

To our right we see the living room, to our left the kitchen,

Small though it is, we are happy to have a roof, to clean not a chore,

A bit cold in the winter, but air is conditioned in the summer,

I fill in the holes in the wall, with the magazines I read while…well you know?

The bathroom in this small home is of kingly proportions,

A two-seater with room for more, rolls of paper on the inside of the door,

The only problem with that, is when it rains and the door is opened,

Well you can imagine how wet tissue works, it certainly does make me roar…

When I get around to it, I will fix that, the only problem in my outhouse never a bore,

Small enough for Rufuz and I, and he is learning to use the pot, believe it or not,

Got so much I could tell you about our house of out, but time I’ve not got,

So will end here, don’t want to make you jealous, our house also has no rot…

WOW! A two-seater--UPTOWN, to say the least. I "fondly" remember those days spent in the country at the Grandparents farm . . . (just a one-seater but we got to watch the lizards play while doing whatever, always checked for snakes, too). Thanks? for the memory. b

A two-seater? And Rufuz is learning to use it? And the two of you can share magazines? I am envious now.
