Driving in Circles…

Some states call them “roundabouts”,

In NJ they are just called circles,

Sometimes four roads come to the same intersection,

A circle ensues, and traffic comes to a stop,

As most only know how to get on,

Some don’t know how to get off, creating snarl…

I watched a Canadian couple once,

They stayed on the inside lane of this one circle,

For the better part of  half an hour,

You could see the fear in their faces,

The mans eyes bugging out,

The woman at him she did shout,

Finally when there was no one on the road,

They inched across the lane and got to a side road,

They pulled over, the man being sick, the woman visibly shaken,

We were young and thought it extremely funny,

But we had not had the experience of a circle at rush hour…

Who has the right of way?

The one with the biggest balls I’d say,

Worry not what’s behind,

Hope other drivers are not blind,

Or you may find,

That you will get yourself in a great big bind…
