Tried to find an E-card,

Found it to be much too hard,

Thought instead I would write this little note,

So herein I do as you can see, I quote…

To my friend Mrs. Chapman,

As close to a mom as one can get,

I hope this finds you well and happy,

And I hope your Mom’s day is one big and wonderful affair…

For you deserve the best, as you have with your kids,

They all love you and respect you and treat you like gold,

As it should be, as it has been, as far as I have been told,

I hope you will allow, if you do not think I am being here too bold,

But if you will, I will say, how much you are loved, from this “extra” son,

Especially on this your special day!

Happy Mom’s Day to a special person in my life, you!
