Directionally Challenged

Never are we just lost anymore...

Directionally Challenged…

The hell with maps,

The same for GPS,

Seems to take away all the fun,

Now wouldn’t you just guess?

Just a compass and your nose,

They seem to work the best,

On wherever it is you go,

Wherever it is you quest…

Unless like some, you are directionally challenged,

The sun rises in the west and sets the same no less,

The moon only rises in the east,

Near the star cluster of the beast…?

Are we ever really lost?

Today in this technological society,

Cell phones to zero in on, pagers to contact us,

Satellite phones becoming all the rage,

Can’t use them under a roof or onboard a bus…

So be like me, carry a compass in your baggy,

I keep it close, as I do also my knife and mini-flashlight,

May not, would it be of use in a war,

But to get home after a night out,

I can know the direction I must go, see with my light,

And defend myself against a most dangerous creature,

                        MAN…
