Nostalgia, the ticket to happiness...

Poem Artwork

Nostalgia…

Batman

Superman

Spiderman

The Green Hornet…

Skinny-dipping

Sledding

Sliding

Rolling down sand dunes…

Ocean swimming

Laying in hot sand

Frizbee on the beach

Climbing the lifeguard stand…

Hugs from mom

Money from dad

Milkshakes on the boardwalk

Pogo dogs on a stick

Hiding under the boardwalk

From my dog I get a lick…

Riding the bumper cars

The ferris wheel

The boats with bells

Cars with horns

Riding on the train

Surrounding the amusement park

I cannot refrain…

Hours spent in a bathing suit

No shoes, no socks, only bare feet

No shirts, no hats, sun does beat

Dark tans, right down to our butt lines

Mom showing off how white you are down there

Embarrassing it may be, but you love it just the same…

Aunts & uncles, cousins too

Visiting at the shore

Every summer, nothing new

Meeting new people everyday

New kids that only want to play

Can you teach me to ride the wave in that way?

So many memories, such nostalgia does come forth,

The big weekend bringing it on, yes July fourth,

Memories of childhood, so strong I can see it,

Fun we had then, little did we know of future events,

We can still have fun, play on the beach like kids,

We must but allow ourselves,

Inside we are always just kids looking for fun in the sun...

I love when you recapture the positives from your youth, Eddie M.. and to have grown up by the sea... sigh.. BUT.. I'm surrounded by lakes and I was out on the pontoon boat, so water is me and I'm water, like you. Your title is perfect... your memories are the stuff of breathless rememberings. This one will linger for me... lovely. katy xox.

Those where the days....pst don't tell EdK...wanna tell you how we played "Chicken" we had alot of them on the farm when we were little...and we always tried to jump on some chicks and won the moment you have one Splat...gross but true...you would just see yellow pooh splashed...I did not want to do it at first....but my brothers told me they would kill me if I did not go along with their game or split on them...so I had to...and it was fun after the first SPLAT...until my dad almost cracked our skulls

Oo,Oo, I remember, well, except for the tan lines, no explanation needed(smile) and sledding because Houston is not a snow city. We got Galveston beach though. Thank E.M.

That's me motto, mate! Oops, sorry, Ed, that darn Andy riles me up so much I'm starting to talk like Mr. Piddles. What I meant to say was, That's my motto, too, Pal!!

Hope you never lose yours, and I am going to try like heck to never lose mine.

Another great poem! But if you keep these up, I will go skinny dipping, and I'll probably get arrested, and that meanie Rebecca probably won't bail me out - again!
