might as well "party"...

Poem Artwork

Might As Well…

I have no political affiliations,

So when it comes time for the elections,

I go in to vote with my heart,

The one I wear out there on the end of my sleeve…

My only party, the one I have a modicum of affiliation,

Is the “Might As Well” party, no candidate, have we,

Not for this election just yet, maybe me,

As even I cannot screw up the nation,

Anymore than the guys that are running for re-election…

Then again I do think,

That Jerry Garcia or John Lennon would make a good president,

Does it matter so much that they are both dead?

Can’t do a worse job than the brain dead pair we have had the last four,

Or the one before that, he found that he could not keep his zipper up,

So much for politicians, none of which could pass an entrance exam,

No way in hell, no possible chance, under no possible condition…

I was doing a night shift when a customer came in and ask if he could watch the elections. Opps! guess I was really out of touch, I thought it was another few months before it was going to happen LOL. first vote I have missed. Is there really anyone worth voting for anymore? I generally vote so the worst of the evils have less chance of getting in. Fun write.

Ed, I have to agree with Katy on this....I'd hate to see a fine person like you sullied by politics.....hold onto the dreams of another era....and keep a positive thought for the future. But most of all, keep writing my friend!!!! Hugs to Rufuz.

PLEASE, Ed.. DO NOT run for president... you're just too fine a person to tangle up in that mess! (grin) This came from a bit deeper place, a profound, thoughtful contribution, indeed. katy xox.

As I am not into politics

I suppose I could say that I'd
vote for you!! lol

Dear Poppy-WrittED,

We'll vote for you if you run on the 'Dogs are People, Too' platform. Lots of 'grass roots' support out here for a guy like you who loves and understands dogs. We need a stronger voice in politics.

Sincerely,
Turbo and Blanca
Illinois Pooches

PS Say the word, and we'll get the posters and flyers going.
