Its Not the Heat; Its the Humidity

It’s Not the Heat; It’s the Humidity…

Not too hot in NJ at this time,

The temps will eventually most certainly climb,

To the middle 90’s and up to 100, sweat beads running down my spine…

You know what they say; it’s not the heat,

If it ain’t I sure as hell would like to know what it is,

Oh, but the humidity is up, near one hundred percent,

That’s when we learn, we sure do find out, just how bad we smell, our scent…

Aftershave and deodorant soaps, underarm deodorant as well,

Nothing seems to help us from stinking, maybe scraping with a shell?

Have yet to find a place where the humidity is not a factor,

Maybe the desert, but till then I am a lousy actor,

If I were a farmer I would have an air-conditioned tractor,

Working their farm in this weather that can only be called hell…

Fortunately in this area there is the ocean,

Cooler than I can take, but still better than the air,

If one can stand the range of motion,

One gets when floating on the ocean on a raft filled with air…

That's right! Excellent writing, Ed. Of course, if it weren't for the humidity, then it would be something else to complain about. THINK SNOW!!! That should keep you cool, then when it snows, THINK HUMIDITY! We are never happy, are we? But stick around, Mother Nature is a quick-change artist. Love, b

Ed, me sweet... you know that old saying: "I wish I had a dime for every time... " (fill in the bland)... well, I wish I had a dime for every time you wrote a poem that reads my own thoughts... this is one of those. I often marvel at how you speak what I'm thinking. Fair play to you, dearie. If I could've said it better, I would've. You continue to roll along... I'm so glad! (smile) katy xox.

Hey,sorry ed,I'm awful I know, but at least your fabulous poem heats my whole face up and makes me smile (warmly). And perhaps this comment can chill you a little(that's a joke ed.)
Best wishes,

p.s.
when its well over 100 degrees here my daughter and I spend the day at the movies and if we can't afford that we spend the day in the shopping mall...free airconditioning!

Your humor shines through, in spite of that blasted heat! Great movement here.
