SOUP…

In the carburetor, what kind?

Certainly not chicken noodle, nor pea soup, nor rinds,

Maybe some nice broth, something of that kind,

Nothing with chunks, would put the engine in a bind,

Don’t want to make the camshafts grind, or the belts unwind…

Must keep that engine in tip top condition,

It cannot be run by nuclear fission,

As well the standard transmission,

Shifts rather stodgily in the stalled position…

Food for our cars, we can give them unleaded,

For a treat we can up the grade to plus or super,

Keeping in mind they cannot run all the time,

They are after all built by the hand of man,

Sometimes it is better if he were to take the day and get a tan…

All the cars in the world do not react lightly,

To screams and shouts and curse words given impolitely,

To sooth your cars acid stomach, fill the tank with fuel,

Give it a bath now and then, stroke its cylinders, don’t treat it like a fool,

As it knows when you do so, it has feelings after all,

Your car knows you better than does your teacher in school,

Hopefully it will always run its best and not have any recalls…

I have only had one problem with a car that had a bit too much humor......like dropping me off after midnight by a graveyard! Ahhh. But I do have memories of a most interesting night :-) Good write.
