Humor or philosophy I cannot make up my mind, maybe it be better if I were to be in a bind, forced to write something that may or may not rhyme...

The Well has Run Dry…

Now that I have time to write,

I don’t seem to feel as bright,

My mind has lost its ability,

My muse seems to have flown away like a kite,

My sponge has been wrung out,

Or so it seems, I herein pout…

The ambition is there, but the little twinkle seems to have gone,

I sit in front of this computer, and therein just yawn,

Feeling for all intents and purposes quite withdrawn,

Know do I that this is poetry, even as it is hard to produce,

Usually given just a word, any word and I have an excuse,

To put words together, to make the reader think I am obtuse…

Not at the moment it seems, I may change back again, sooner than I think,

Maybe I should, like many authors and poets before me, take up the drink,

Or find a mountain, to stand on the precipice, yes the brink,

Even my favorite place, the beach, offers no ideas other than something that stinks…

So I will just continue on, as we all must do,

Hoping some muse or idea or thought will be induced,

For now I am cordially yours, your servant savant, a poet with no muse,

Or just maybe I do not have the brain power right now to find to use…
