Watching Rufuz…
Did you ever take the time?
To sit and watch your dog take his time,
Working his way to the point of the poop,
Circling the spot, sniffing and smelling each place,
Just before he does eventually do the squat…
Tell him he is a good boy, praise he does deserve,
He does his thing when told,
They look like cute little hors-d-oeuvres,
Not the kind you get at a party but still hot they are served…
But don’t do the stare thing, hates to be looked at, does he,
Will stop in the middle, go and hide behind a tree,
Can’t see me now, can you daddy?
Scrapes his paws afterward, a whole new dog he feels,
Runs to catch up to dad, jumps and bites, and growls,
Wants to play after he takes his dump,
Daddy goes over to retrieve his clump…
What smells do our dogs find on their walks?
Are they such that we humans would find good to talk?
“Oh hey neighbor, I did find me this clump today,”
“Yes out in the woods, it did smell of you or your son,”
“Did you take him out there yesterday; you didn’t pick it up,”
“Not very environmental of you, even I do it for my pup…”
