Old Age...?

I hope I can remember what it was like to be 20 when I approach 70...but if I cannot now, I doubt I will then...

Old Age…?

My hair graying, my beard a bit toward white as well,

If you look at my picture I am sure you can tell,

Old age creeping in, almost fifty I be, but still I feel pretty well,

Passing the buck to the next generation, I do quite well when I sell…

Old age attacking my bowels and urinary tract,

Am I not too young for that, don’t let me get off track,

Forgetful I am getting as well, short-term memory gone off the rack,

Drinking more water, as I am told it is good for me,

My body is up in arms, it craves what it is used too,

Hey, where is the black cherry, root beer and cherry coke, bring it back…

The past just a memory if I can remember at all,

The present is the here and now, like to my age just stall,

The future I will not think about, even if and when death comes to call,

For to do so now, would make me sicker and more old before my time comes to take the big fall…

Hang in there! If you take care, you'll be writing "old age stuff," when you actually get there! I mean, those Social Security folks won't pay you until you get OLD, man! AARP has lulled you into a false sense of antiquity. I'm posting one written on this subject, which tells the real story of, "Old." Like your build-up telling your story, and always enjoy how you lay those words out for us to gain a new outlook. - Bill

Ed,
As I'm approaching the big 60 I'm beginning to think that it's all in my mind. I just can't help it if I sit on it. (lol) At least it's well protected. The biggest help I find in keeping a young attitude is not to worry about tomorrow.

Hey hey old mate...
what's this blarney bout 50 bein' old...
why,50's just great...
not old,you deserve a good sharp scold
for claimin' such tripe,alright?

(You whippersnapper you!!!)
soooooooo...
yer pipes are a bit rusty
and yer bowels are all gusty,
and yer veins stick out bulging and blue.
But hey hey old mate,
yer still have that bait
to turn heads with the poems that you do,
yeh,yer young still ,at heart,
and yer still look the part,
and yu'll live ta a hundred and two.
Besides mate...I'm older than you,
and I'm friskier than
all you cheeky young men...
and I'll cry in my hankie...
and get really cranky
and I'm young enough mate still to do.

We're just better growed
more garnished and hoed
we're just richer vintage
like Poppie with spinache
so put yer dummy back in
and put on yer short duds
don't be like an old fud...
yer only as old as yer feel
and yer feel like yer still young,ta me.(so yer must be!)
Hey babe...I love yer poetry,a bit immature though...wink wink...that's a joke!

One thing I've learned from my Dad is you're never too old for butt problems.
