Ed Did Take a Birthday Swim…

Rene & Ed to the shore they went,

Ed decided to take a swim,

The ocean a bathtub, 75 degrees or more,

Perhaps the high temps and exercise will help Ed get slim,

He certainly did become if nothing else, quite sore,

Paddling into a wave or two, Ed did bang his shin, 

Coming towards the shore were sets or four…

The waves from the storm down south,

Have yet to hit the Jersey beaches, heard by word of mouth,

No riptides as of yet, no strong currents,

Just beautifully clean water, waves a building, the sandbar unyielding…

Afterwards to the boardwalk for a walk and a custard,

Caramel custard just made special to order,

Hey I felt damn good today, gotta take double my meds, everyday,

Hated to leave to be honest and true ,

First time I felt like a kid in twenty years,

Have to go back tomorrow with my boogie board,

Can’t wait, can I, I tell you most true …
