The Ground did Collapse, Swallowing Me Whole

Fictional but a possibility with the condition my yard is in...

The Ground Did Collapse, Swallowing Me Whole…

Walking through my yard,

Over top a French drain,

Trying really hard,

Not to walk with much strain,

When the wet from the sky comes down,

Yes you know what I mean, the rain,

It makes the yard all mushy, kinda like my brain…

All of a sudden a hole did open up below me,

Must be all this weight I have put on, so sue me,

Still in all, this hole did swallow me into the ground,

Poop and paper all over me, I was afraid to move around…

Damn sewer, I knew it, I knew it would collapse,

Had to take three showers and drink some schnapps,

Before I was sure I would not suffer any conditions of relapse,

Think maybe now I can finally get off this site, I asked of the owner,

He was not sure and would not commit but he did say maybe and/or perhaps…

I lived in an area, that we learnt was built on a old garbage dump; explosions happened while I lived there. I wonder if any of us really live on safe ground?

I'm disappointed in you now, Ed. What a marvelous opportunity to explore those fabled east coast sewers, and find those giant alligators and mutant rats and all sorts of other Urban Legend treasures.

Get back down there - and take pictures!!
