Crushed...(a retraction of sorts)

Poor, poor man this writer I do speak of, a retraction I do make, but have no mistake, what I said was trying to be funny, apparently it was not take with the grain of sodium that it should have been...

CRUSHED…(a retraction of sorts)

Far be it from me,

To crush the spirit of a fellow writer,

I just hope that writer did see,

I was being as usual as funny as I could be…

Far be it from me,

To take away from a fellow writer the desire to live,

No I am not at all being right here and in no way, glib,

Would not, would I want to hurt anyone especially an old guy that shall remain nameless…

Your wife, she did make the statement that you would be crushed,

I hope she was kidding, just making the joke, a little bit of humor,

For I would hate to be the brunt of a long term rumor,

Maybe herein I should just keep my mouth shut, yes just allow me to be hushed…

Good on you Ed,anyone who knows you (or who gets to know you) will find you would not intentionly hurt a fly and all your poems are aimed at making the reader smile.Us poets are such a sensitive bunch but I for one would not want that any other way.I tippy toe around the den but at same time try to still be me...that's all we have to be...gently as possible lest we too be crushed,my own wings have been splattered a few times but thank God I can still make them fly (I just do it without my BUZZ working now days.
I love this poem and the sentiment behind it and I do so admire the poets ethics who composed it.
Again....Good on ya Ed!

As sensitive as I try to be toward others' and I know you to be just the same, I completely agree with Trask and with Ed K here... anyone who knows you, reads you often, knows that you haven't a mean bone or cruel streak anywhere in your psyche or your bawdy bod!

Regret nothing, for if you do, then you subscribe to the idea that the past can be changed... not as far as I know. I don't know what this is about, but it seems to demonstrate the glaring problem in the world today: LACK OF COMMUNICATION! Let this offended party speak to you and clear it up. You're kind to care... but I prefer the Eddie M who boldly speaks his mind... Lincoln knew whereof he spoke: 'you truly can't please ALL the people... EVER' How's that for a paraphrase.. Sigh... oh, great! Now I'll have Abe's ghost haunting me. (grin) Just remember, the time to NOT say something is BEFORE you say it. Otherwise, stick it out. You wouldn't intentionally hurt anyone. Those of us who love you know that... now: on with the show! katy xox. (I really need to get a bigger soapbox!) hehehehe... xox.

Well at least you offer an apology if you feel you have hurt someone, with your offbeat sense of humour.
You know me, up front and honest, sometimes to a default, and that gets me into strife, so dont sweat it. If you feel regret, then that is a sure sign of a greater power prickling the conscience, I know, I get it in the frontal lobe, and my ears really go boing!

We all make mistakes, say and do the wrong thing, all of us, no exceptions ahem!!
You know what I mean mate. Some of us just dont think so though ;)

Good stuff, Ed. Strong and to the point (and it is you). No. It is not me in drag (in my latest post). But I am open to anything really. And I was/am a wannabe hippie. Love to you and to Rufuz. You are awesomely appreciated in this part of "town." Regis

personally i would enjoy some constructive criticism in a review sometimes...i think. the last suggestion i remember was on the verdict where someone suggested i use semen instead of sperm...little did i know they weren't the same thing, but i appreciated it. i have sometimes thought 'if she/he added a word to that last line, it would flow better', but i haven't the nerve to say it, afraid it will sound patronizing or offend someone. i missed what you said ed but i'm sure it wasn't so bad

Hey you called it as you saw it. If we writers can't take a little criticism, and even rejection now and then, we are tapping on the door of the wrong business. I've lost track of all the rejections I've received. We're probably into triple digits by now. But the one thing that is nice as if one continues to use those rejections as a learning tool, as well as incentive to hone their craft, they will be able to eventually turn the rejections into acceptances. Slowly but surely, the tide on my writing is turning around. I've had four acceptances just this month. Ed, you are a priceless member of AD. Never lose your wit, and your honesty! We need it!!! Yes, I agree with TRASK! Stand by your words; Do not look back; don't hedge your bets; don't wimp out! Say what you mean; and mean what you say!

And, most importantly, never, ever, believe anything you see - in fake e-mails!
