I tried to tell him not to drink salt water…

Rufuz doesn’t seem to like water much,

He will walk in it and play just a bit and such,

But he won’t swim, nor does he like being splashed,

He runs away from his dad and rolls in the sand…

But while in the water, ocean water of course,

He likes to drink it, not good for his innards,

Or so I try to tell him, I know eventually he will lose it,

But the direction it comes back is what’s worrying me…

Today he lost it by bringing it back up,

Doggy yuch really does suck,

Fortunately he has a blanket he sleeps on,

Therein the blanket now needs cleaning,

Only dad here to do it, ain’t that just my luck…?

I try and try to yell when he is sipping,

You would think he would realize after it tears at his stomach, yes ripping,

Hell salt water can almost take paint off of cars, yes stripping,

Imagine what it will do with a doggy’s tender stomach,

Maybe it taught Rufuz what it was like when his dad used to go “tripping”…
