My Shadow and me…

My shadow does follow me,

Wherever I do go, he is there right next to or behind me,

He even, when we do walk in the woods, helps to part the leaves,

When I wear shirts he does also, has trouble he does with long sleeves…

Follow me he does,

Right thru the rain and the snow and all the scuzz,     

Doesn’t much like it, as he is closest to the ground,

He still does follow me everywhere I go, yes all around…

Attached to me he is,

With an invisible umbilical cord,

Even there is he when I am quite bored,

He knows quite well he is adored,

When he gets his daily treat, yes reward…

You all know my shadow, his name being Rufuz,

Who names their shadow you ask, those that love them, I say,

He brings to my life a friendly ear, his smile always as bright as the suns rays,

His teeth may need cleaning, his coat a dirty mess,

But love him I do with all due respect and very little distress…
