Who's trained...?

TRAINED…by Rufuz

My water bowl refilled with fresh,

Freezing cold water what I love,

The living room couch the place I sleep,

It seems to fit me quite nicely just like a warm glove…

I go to the door and shake my tags,

They make just the right noise,

So he does not in any way lag,

Outside I do go, on my leash,

A biscuit I do get out of the bag…

I lay my head on his bended knee,

He scratches my chin immediately,

No need for me to even in any way plea,

And so he “thinks”, the one trained is me…

Dinner I do get when it is time,

Don’t like the dry all the time,

Want the kibbles & bits from the can,

I don’t eat the dry; he gets me the good stuff,

That being all along my plan…

If I don’t get what I want,

I lie on the couch and whine,

Funny how then he even offers me wine,

Learned I did guilt trips from grand mom,

I am not the one who is trained here,

Dad being quite trainable, that is altogether clear…

You know what, Rufie? I think this is one of your very best! Your poetry just seems to get better and funnier and even profound, as proven with this one.

Obviously, Dad's already very good at sitting up and begging... got that one covered, didn't you? You're no fool... say, would you please tell your Dad, for me, that I think he's just swell! thanks, pardner..

(Blanca and Turbo down there appear to be right on your wavelength... keep 'em guessin', ol boy!) hehe... katy xox.

Rufuz, you are truly a wise pooch; funny how many Dads are so easily trained. Have you got him to fetch the morning paper for you yet? It took us awhile, but our Dad's completely trained in that department now, too. We like reading the Scooby Doo Comics.
