To insulate or not to insulate, that is the question (with apologies to Mr. Shakespeare)

Not exacly humor, but better that than anything else...

To Insulate or not to insulate, that is the question…

        (with apologies to Mr. Shakespeare)

When I did live on the street,

I had to keep warm living next to a creek,

There I did insulate with newspaper print,

Now the question is should I finally get a hint?

To exist through the winter in a camper,

Without being able to go to Florida and scamper,

To the warmth of the world for the winter months,

Gotta keep myself warm, plenty of heat to me pamper…

Did cover all the windows with clear plastic,

As well as some of the walls with half inch insulate,

Better than to wake up one morning as cold as frozen bait,

Or maybe NOT to actually awake, buried I would be then in a crate…

It has yet to be TOO cold, but to be honest I feel it coming,

I know this as I have awakened with my toes kinda numbing,

Had to install my electric blanket on my bed,

As well as electric tape on my plumbing,

At least in the cold I won’t be in the near future succumbing…

Oh, no... not this again! Did you get some wool socks? What you need is one of those one-piece, footie nighties (cute, too! hehe). Hey... you could rent a Santa suit.. those look really really warm, especially the BEARD! Yahoooooo... Rufuz will think it's Christmas every day! (does he have a stocking?... do you?!) Just think, if you're naughty, and Santa brings you coal for your stocking, you could BURN IT! (ok, that's it... now I'm getting toooooooo loony, even for me! hehe) Jaysus, sweets... I almost forgot: I love your poem! (grin) katy xox.

My you sure are the creative one and again you broached a subject that you usually don't see in poetry.

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
