More christmas humor, of sorts...

Poem Artwork

HO, HO, HO…

Heard from a poet we all do know,

Santa does also recite this we all know,

The only time I say this is when I do curse,

Mostly when my boat motor dies & I must row…

Heard through our childhood as we did grow,

Back in our first days of life when we did need a nurse,

Even more when at Christmas we did become all aglow,

When Santa and his elves did on us, toys, bestow…

No harassment meant, but had to use the cartoon, so,

I have come here to say to all to have a Happy Holiday, although,

Predicted a chance of a white Christmas here, yes snow,

I am not sure I would appreciate the white stuff, as I would then have to drive slow…

Poor Santa... caught in the crossfire of an over-reactionary society... Sigh... I'll put out an extra cookie and maybe sparkle his milk with some Ovaltine.

This cartoon and your marvelous poem tossed me to the floor. You're a pip, Eddie M. That's a GOOD thing! LOL... katy xox.

Actually ED, as funny in all that this write is, there is a serious downturn to it all now. Front page news this morning about the furore in the UK about kids sitting on Santy's knee, no lighting allowed in case some drop kick vandal electrocutes himself, no tinsel for teenagers, in case they strangle themselves, yadda yadda, all fair dinkum too.
Thats the word across the board...

So just like they took away our crackers and stuff for Guy fawkes night, they will take away all our fun for xmas soon enough, and goodness knows what crud will be dished out to replace it for entertainment, though I have a fairly good idea.

Hugs to yah though,
Love ch'erie

Very cute graphic, Ed. I wouldn't mind a little snow for the holiday, but snow here is a far cry from the stuff I knew in the Midwest. Here it is just pretty and so dry it really can just be dusted away. On the worst snow days, I have had to use a push broom to clear my driveway; usually, since the ground isn't frozen, the roads, sidewalks and driveways are not white. Merry Christmas!
Take care,
Sherry
