Poem Artwork

None too Often…

Due to the terroristic threat of late,

I decided to change my name,

I figure if I was named appropriately,

I would not get bombed or shot,

Except by the FBI or a cop,

Both being one in the same…

I am not so sure if I should relate to you,

This new name I did take in the Islamic faith,

I had to take it not as a junior or senior,

But I had to be the number eight or eighth,

So bear with me for just a few more short lines,

Then I will let you know what to call me that will be just fine,

I hesitate to tell you as I know how the world does feel,

About those of us who have joined to worship Allah,

Most people just want to make us filleted,

So my name is now, just don’t laugh please,

          SELDOM BIN LAYED…

You take the cake! You are amazing! One minute I'm in a blue funk... then I read this... next thing I know, my own laughs are bouncing off the walls at me...

It isn't just the hilarious, unequaled balderdash in that ending... ah, no... you've carefully, gleefully made it build, commentary followed by timely topics... and then: SMACK! Right between the eyes... I will think of this for days and days and giggle out loud, causing those around me to think "yep... we were right about her!" hehehehe... love it! katy xox.
