Frozen Stiff…

Awoke at 10 am,

My water did, overnight, freeze,

My heat tape did die a coward’s death,

No warning, no suicide note, must have been out of breath…

Obscenities I did shout over this freeze,

A lot worse than just oh geez,

Tried to call out of work,

Realized I was not supposed too,

But had no choice, or so I thought,

Fortunately for me, my boss understood and was not a jerk,

She did arrange for me to start late,

In that way, losing my job would not be my fate…

New heat tape installed,

And the price did not even me appall,

No worries for this winter of another water stall,

Apparently my first heat tape had been, unbeknownst to me, recalled…
