HUMOR...?

Today I did die…


 


Before my time,


Today I did die,


Seem to go many places,


Saw many familiar faces…


 


Told I did die too soon,


Don’t know by whom,


A voice from above?


Seemed so full of love…


 


My family, mom and dad,


All there weirdly dressed in plaid,


All were to see me quite glad,


I seemed the only one a bit sad…


 


I worried for Rufuz, my puppy,


I wanted to work a bit longer on my new job,


If I had had one, I would have worried about my guppy,


They did say I was not allowed to be dead,


This day they were not accepting any yuppies…


 


That pissed me off even more; I thought I was a hippy,


Flew around to complain of my untimely death,


I did so on wings quite zippy,


To go back is what I wanted to do,


To once again be alive and to catch a breath,


Did complain to God and his angels till I was out of breath,


Not sure what did happen, but as you can see, I am here,


Life I right now and forever will always revere…

In a topsy-turvy, round-a-about but very poetic way, Eddie M, you kind of wrote an inspired invitation to us all to step back and appreciate just being alive! That's always a good thing, I'd say.

What's wrong with plaid, may I ask? I might prefer that over the blinding white they all seem to have on in the pictures... actually, I think I'll request herring-bone... yeah, that's it. Oh, and not a single one of us would doubt that you would have "zippy wings"... can you get me some? Yippee!! I love this... and I'm glad it's NOT TRUE! katy xox.

Glad to hear you made it back from your Near Death Experience, my friend - not many do. And some interesting info you've shared - Plaid is worn in the After Life, very interesting, indeed. But I must say, the most startling news was that you were called a Yuppie. Wow! It must have been a case of Mistaken Identity, and they were calling a different Ed Matlack.
