My Mirrors do Darken

My Mirrors do Darken…

Whenever I do approach,

My mirrors do darken,

They seem to be beyond reproach,

Though in their mannerisms to each other they do harken…

I didn’t think I did look all that bad,

Now my mirrors are telling me they are so sad,

They don’t want to see me naked anymore,

They say I do look like an over fed, under sexed whore…

Darken is not necessarily the right word,

More so they do go blank,

Do mirrors have feelings of their own?

By blanking out they seem to express them,

They do say to me what they want and do so oh so frank…

I try to sneak up on them,

But they all seem to know I am coming,

One mirror does tell the other,

Guess when I do so I will have to act nonchalant,

Maybe if were to, just prior to appearing, start humming…?

Dump those shallow, ungrateful mirrors, Eddie M! Come look in mine... they see the beauty inside and they would welcome you, indeed! (smile) I think your poem is clever, funny and most imaginative! Sometimes, your phrasings just knock me down! Yep! katy xox.

Time to get new mirror's because your's are lying to you. I wish you had the mirror I have of you. You, Ed, are a very compassionate man with a lot of love to give to the world even if you do give into negative thoughts sometimes. And I think you know from a recent poem I reviewed I always speak the truth to you. No body said you are perfect, but you are a great person to get to know. Hey Rufuz wouldn't stay with anyone that wasn't wonderful. He is a smart dog.

You know Tinka is right but then I just laugh because at least now I have credibility when I go sell an antique.

Ed, have you ever sat down and had a talk with your mirrors? Mirrors fear being shattered. So, I let my mirrors know who's boss. If they don't tell me I'm the fairest of them all, they believe they'll end up doing a jig with my broom.
