Putting pen to paper, writing then losing it all…

Lost most of it, but with my brain, what else is new...? ;)

Putting pen to paper, writing then losing it all…

Did you ever do this on a computer?

Then when you went back to check on what you wrote,

You somehow lost it; the whole page is gone,

Have you ever found yourself in this boat…?

I wrote a whole story, several pages,

Then somehow hit delete by accident,

Lost are the great lines; lost is everything that was fine,

Still it does exist in my head, but having trouble to it find…

How does one cope?

Living with my other side, the dope,

He does seem to be sometimes too stupid,

To be a part of me I cannot believe it, nope,

Maybe I did find him at a yard sale,

Maybe I can send him back; they can keep whatever I paid…

Done it, learned from it, and it's infuriating if the ISP kicks you off whilst your half way through writing, so I always check the connection now before hitting the button.

Good write Ed, Duchess sends licks and kisses, she had a really neat clipping(hair cut) funky stuff... looks alot younger hehe.
Good to read you, I have been scarce for a while, had to have my neck and back done tonight, it was out big time. Much better now.
Love Ch'erie

Learn the value of saving it and dropping it on a disk. It is tormenting to write your soul out and then somehow hit the delete button. I also save often. Write a page or even a paragraph if it is profound then save it. If you don't have a CDR-W or DVDR-W then print it often, it is only paper you are wasting and if you are concerned, once you have finished and saved it, you can turn over the paper and reuse it. I have lost too many things to trust my computer and myself. This is a very sad post, Ed.
Take care,
Sherry

Yep... you're correct, Eddie... you DID buy that dumb side at a yard sale... and I was awfully glad to be rid of him! (grin) Alas, I have done this very thing you write about... more than once! Sigh... it is, to say the least, devestating. There's actual, physical pain in the head and heart. Then, we throw something and feel better. (Don't throw AT anyone, though... no, no) I'm so sorry you went through this... katy xox.

Glad you can make a joke out of it Ed. But don't feel
like a fool, you should only know how many I've lost!
The thing is, as we get older, remembering it gets harder;-)
Andy said my poem reminds him of yours;-)...etw

Living with my other side, the dope,

Hey, quit complaining - I've lived with my other side - the Big Dope - for a lot longer than you have with yours - and I'm actually starting to like this guy! He can really liven up my day sometimes.

Don't be so hard on yourself Ed...these funny little boxes are only machines..they have glitches too, but the artist in you will replace in many folds whatever you have lost. Give it time..you'll see.
Don't sweat the small stuff!

Lisa
