Not sure if this is what the challenge was about, but gave it a shot anyway...

Poem Artwork

Great White…(for John Zimmermans Challenge)

I swim up and down the east coast,

Looking for a meal, doesn’t have to be a roast,

Any size at all, be it short or tall,

Seawater to wash it down and to toast,

The taste of a surfer or swimmer would be the very most…

From Block Island to the Florida Keys,

I swim just below the surface; I do so with ease,

Not even a skier or boater to fall in,

I am famished, I am starving, been nibbling on my fin…

Chum from fishing boats does keep me alive,

But a human meal is what for I strive,

Oh is that a human floating on his back?

Time for me to go in for the attack…

Who would be so inconsiderate to shape a man out of plastic?

Then fill him with air and float him out to sea,

I really thought I had a good meal,

But hot air and soft plastic does my teeth no good,

I gotta tell ya, I really do believe that people for me do not feel…

Okay so I have a bit of an attitude,

So I have eaten a few humans in southern latitudes,

I mean I have to eat, how can I resist,

I really do strive to thank them,

I try to each time, express my gratitude…

So its back to swimming,

Something I do quite regularly,

My dorsal fin does break the surface,

Maybe I will find an old tire floating,

Or a few dead fish on the surface bloating…

"been nibbling on my fin…" ahhhhhhh... this is but one of the many fab lines in this piece... did you meet the challenge, you ask? I'd say you may hold the title for the most clever and unique! As John, himself, says down there, he thought of human voices... only you could carve a path off the beaten one and deliver this hilarious, fun read. I'm for you, sir! (grin) katy xox
