With apologies and respects to Marvin Gaye...

Poem Artwork

I heard it through the grape nuts…

When I have no snap, crackle and pop,

Nor flakes with tony the tiger,

No fruit loops have I either got,

Have to talk to the grape nuts,

Can’t hear anything from the cold cuts…

I am not even just a little paranoid,

No schizophrenia does run in my veins,

Now depression is quite another story,

Will have to someday clean out my personal inventory…

When they do speak to me,

They tell me what they see,

When on the spoon they do enter my mouth,

To travel to my stomach and then to points further south…

The beginning of their journey is not so bad,

But where they end up is quite completely sad,

The smell alone does make them anything but glad,

By the time they do arrive there,

Nothing more to this conversation can they add…

Amazing! Cold cuts talk to me all the time; but I can't get a word out of those grape nuts. Want to swap stories?!
