Ode’ to Out of Code…
If milk is out of code, it might be stale,
Smelling for all the world of a dead quail,
Your nose you do wrinkle in disgust,
Better it would be for the milk container to combust…J
If certain foods are out of code,
Like that of canned goods though, they can be kept in your abode,
They stay fresh longer, unless it might be a can of toad,
Better for that to be thrown in the fire to explode…J
If certain medications are out of code,
I have been warned; yes I have been told,
To flush them down the, ah yes again, the commode,
Though I think they may be more fun to take,
I doubt, and I think you may agree, that they would in any way implode…J
This may not be an ode’ in the classical sense,
I mean I like classical music, but of it I can’t make any sense,
I see that an ode is a lyric poem with complex stanza forms,
What the hell do I know of complex stanzas?
I barely write well enough to get paid for my extravaganzas…J
