A Rejected Reject I Sometimes Be

Odd, but what else is new...?

A Rejected Reject I Sometimes Be…

Cause for you to feel pity,

Cause for me to feel shitty,

Rejected I do be,

A reject I found I was, see?

Injected is what I want to be…

I am a reject with a peculiar intellect,

I am a reject or did you already suspect,

I am a reject and please, I do not mean for myself any disrespect,

But as a reject I am the best, yes the most perfect…

This poem did come to me,

Under the guise of a joke,

The joke was at my expense,

I understood it and took no offense,

I won’t tell you of its content,

I would rather keep you in suspense…

Life is what we we do when we are rejected, dejected, ejected and injected.

What I want to know is by whose standards are the most of us "alternative"-types "rejects"?! And who would want to be the "Grade A List Normals" anyway?! Uniqueness is to be cherished and most highly esteemed... but I also understand the self-knocking humour thing, Ed. So often I seem to come across to people as "worried" when I am just having a hearty joke, as you say, at my own expense. Not taking oneself too seriously is a personal quality that is, in certain quarters of mainstream life, sadly lacking, it seems to me. Good job I make myself laugh, I think... even if everyone else is highly unamused!! Perhaps we are our own best company: at least we can never be bored - even if others find us peculiar and boring. Hey, I must be on my favourite topic here: ME!! Yet another self-knock, right?! :)) And thanks for the solidarity over Joshua... perhaps the reason I am laughing and blocking today; just unbelievable and I, too, am sorry for YOUR loss. WTG, Ed. We'll raise our glasses in a toast to him if we ever meet face to face, OK?! Kate xx
