Just playin' with words and thoughts again...

Three Questions from the 'ID' of "ED"...

Sitting in plain sight…

Is there anyplace that is not plain?

Is there a different sight that something maybe sitting in?

Where did this phrase come from, perhaps someplace quite arcane?

I know that my thought processes may seem to you absolutely inane…

To sleep like a log…

We lay on our sides,

We sleep like ourselves,

How does one sleep like a log?

Perhaps I have in my head busted a cog?

Wish I could get myself out of this fog…

Sick as a dog…

I know I have been this way,

But how do we know a dog is sick?

Perhaps when he does not feel up to chasing a stick?

Does he tell us with a certain bark?

Were they born this way, or did it come after the trip on Noah’s ark…?

Freud invented the ego and Id
To explain what folks would forbid
But Ed drives in the rain
while engaging his brain
Until he goes into a skid.

Actually, EM, it's "hiding in plain sight"... and I have used that one my own self, from time to time.

How anal can I get, writing the above line... sigh... as usual, you've addressed your imagination to something not just readable, but quite ponderful, which I'm pretty sure isn't a word, but, then, consider who wrote it. (grin) We may always be fascinated by the ID. It's the ego we have to monitor carefully. LOL... katy xox

And if the dog gets sick right along with you it really is a contest to see which one is sicker. However I have to say that maybe my little guy is being sypathetic.

Logs do seem to sleep, in plain sight, for centuries - interesting.
But I must agree with Nordette about 'sick as a dog.' When my mutts get sick, they quickly upchuck, and then very merrily head off to play - we should be as fortunate as them when we're sick.

About this sick as a dog business, my son closed ours up in my bedroom this morning by mistake. The dog, Bolt, then vomited big heaps in two spots in my room. I heard him hacking and woke up. Now if I had done that, I'd have been in my bed feeling that the death angel were coming any minute. He left these gross gifts on my carpet and when I opened the door trotted down the hall and went about his business as though vomiting on mom's bedroom floor was a daily ritual. Consequently, I just don't get the "sick as a dog" saying at all. ;-) Nordette
