I must have hit my head

With thanks to my Rene' for the inspiration...

I must have hit my head…

Must have hit my head on the ocean floor,

As per Rene’ I was acting sillier than usual,

I just did not want her to feel in anyway bored,

One would have to be actually IN the ocean,

Or maybe it was my ten-foot surfboard,

My head the brunt of its energy stored…

The waves were quite very tight,

A hurricane a thousand miles away,

Brought in surf that surely was just right,

Though the ocean was a bit cool,

The waves were bigger than any mid-western wave pool…

Then all of a sudden they did die,

The wind did switch, out of the sou’west,

Smoothing the surf, only a few rollers,

I begged and prayed for more powerful surf,

But the ocean gods for now saw fit to ignore my request…

Twas exhilarating for the time we had,

Had several rides when one would not have made me sad,

Was a great day to ride a big one,

Seems that is what Rene said last time she did visit me,

But I digress; the waves today were certainly wonderful,

I send my thanks to old mom ocean, lost I did some anxiety…

Sounds like an ole fisherman’s tale about the “big one” that got away … lol. Glad you made it back, my gifted friend. Take care and be well.
