I Need a Good Excuse…

Hey out there in poetry land,

Can some of you or all lend me a hand?

A good excuse is what I am of in need,

A day off with pay so the doggie I can feed…

I wanna take Friday off,

Maybe if I call and fake a cough?

But no, as they will see me on Thursday,

Maybe I can tell them I ate a bad cheese soufflé…?

So, with all the talent of those of you out there,

Maybe you can just tell me something that might be considered fair,

I wait with bated breath whatever you do declare,

Please help me out of this predicament,

Really I just wish I were a multi-billionaire…
