Gotta laugh about winters cold,
What else can one do when gettin' old...?

Poem Artwork

Debut…

Winter temps making their debut,

By mid day though to them you can say adieu,

Time it may be for you to tea brew,

Time it is also to clean out the heater flue…

The dog is happy about the temps so raw,

I can take it or leave it, has yet to get so cold that I am in awe,

He wants out to take advantage of this weather,

To get my attention in my face I do find his stinky old paw…

Soon we will be bitchin’ and complainin’,

Oh it’s too cold to go anywhere, have to stay in,

Bundling up in layers will be the order of the day,

Shorts and t-shirts for next summer will be put away…

Dealing with extremes in temperatures,

From cool to downright freakin’ cold,

Boy I do feel the fact that I’m  gettin’ old,

In my bones, my joints, toes and fingers,

The cold all day long lingers…

Ed,
Cold winters I can do without. Not an easy statement for someone that has always lived in New England. If it makes Rufus happy then I'll put up with the cold.
