Last call,

Don’t stall,

Get out, watch the steps, don’t fall,

Nobody can stay,

So you’re bigger than me, yes tall,

The place is closed and that’s all…

No more drinkin’

Go home to your wife stinkin’

Barely able to walk let alone drive,

Better in the back seat of a cab you do your blinkin…

Closin’ time it has come,

No more coke and rum,

Take your money and go home on the run,

Or sleep it off on a bench and wait for the sun…

You can return tomorrow night,

For now we need a rest,

We have all come of this night to the end time,

As well you have reached the end of this rhyme…

With my working hours at the moment.........last call is being called as I walk through the door........one drink and I am on my way home. Not often but it is nice to share a drink with a co-worker :-)

It has been many years since I heard "last call" shouted to all in the bar. Not being one for alcohol, I rarely had to stagger out, but I certainly helped many a friend find their way back home. Fun write, Ed!
Take care,
Sherry
