On the Eve

On Christmas eve,


Some find it time to grieve,


So cold to some they must wear long sleeves,


Some like me have to work to overtime receive…


 


Three hundred miles driven,


For that overtime given,


Get to see all the pretty lights,


No time that night,


To do any kind of write…


 


Racing with Santa and his sleigh,


Stopping at every homes buffet,


Received from Santa a wilting bouquet,


I do it ever year I have no dismay,


Thinking though each moment of my beautiful Rene’…

I have never liked working on holidays even if I didn't have plans to do anything. I guess it is just about thinking that we deserve to have that time to ourselves to do whatever we wish. I hope you get to share some eggnog with Rufuz before the sun rises on Christmas morn.

Oh, I have worked many a Christmas Even AND Christmas too. Got with trying too make a living. Nice.
